Getting started with Moises
What it actually is, the three products sharing one subscription, what Pro unlocks, and getting the Stems plugin into Logic.
Moises started as a mobile-first stem-separation and practice tool and grew into a large consumer/prosumer platform used by tens of millions of people. AI Studio is the newer generative layer built on top of that original separation and practice engine — it runs in the browser and desktop, not as part of the mobile app.
SUNO invents the musical world from a prompt. Moises doesn't invent anything — it listens to audio you already have (a SUNO bounce, a Logic sketch, a recorded riff) and generates or isolates individual instrument parts that lock to that material's tempo, harmony, and groove. It behaves like a responsive session player reacting to what's already on the table, not a composer inventing a record from nothing. Logic remains the place where everything actually gets finished.
The three products under one roof
"Moises" is really three connected products sharing one account and subscription. Keeping them distinct will save you confusion in your first sessions.
The original Moises app
Upload a track, get separated stems, chord/key/BPM detection, a practice player with independent stem faders, tempo change with pitch lock, semitone pitch shifting, section looping, and lyric transcription. The mature, well-tested foundation — available on web, desktop, iOS, and Android.
The generative layer
Runs on web (studio.moises.ai) and desktop only. This is where context-aware stem generation, chord-guided creation, in-browser editing, Voice Studio conversion, and AI mixing/mastering live. The newest and least mature part of the platform — treat generated output as a strong starting point, not a finished part.
The DAW plugin (AU / VST3 / AAX)
Pro-tier only, installed through the Moises Desktop App. In Logic it shows up under Audio Unit Instruments. Important: this is a stem-delivery portal, not a window into AI Studio — it lets you drag already-processed stems into a track, but it can't generate anything new from inside Logic.
What the Pro tier actually unlocks
Pricing varies enough across third-party review sites and aggregators to be unreliable — always check your own account/billing page over anything you read elsewhere. What's consistent across tiers, verified against Moises's own documentation, is this:

Worth knowing so you don't assume a feature is special to a higher tier when it isn't: basic chord detection, basic key/BPM detection, standard 4-track separation, tempo/pitch tools, and the practice player are all available on Premium (and in reduced form on Free). Pro's value is concentrated in separation depth, generation volume, export quality, and DAW integration.

Treat your desktop/browser session as the operational center for anything destined for a final mix. Mobile apps are genuinely useful for rehearsal and auditioning, but treat their exports as scratch material only.
Installing the Stems plugin in Logic Pro
- Download and install the Moises Desktop App.
- Sign in — confirm your plan and available credits on the Profile screen.
- In the Desktop App, find the plugin section and install Stems (AU/VST3/AAX — only shows as installable on Pro).
- Open Logic Pro. Create a new software instrument track.
- Navigate: AU Instruments → Moises → Stems.
- A code-validation screen appears on first launch — follow the on-screen steps to link the plugin to your account.

studio.moises.aiseparately — that's where AI Studio (generation) lives, distinct from the classic app.
Once authenticated, your previously processed songs sync automatically, and you can drag any separated stem directly into your Logic arrangement. Keep the plugin current via the Moises Desktop App's update mechanism, and set the correct project tempo in Logic before dragging stems in.

It's a stem browser and delivery mechanism — it saves you the Finder round-trip of exporting from the browser and manually importing. It does not provide live sectional regeneration from the Logic timeline, sync with Logic's own Chord track, automatic tempo-map creation, or any AI Studio editing capability.
