The combined workflow
Where each tool earns its place in the chain, and where it should get out of the way.
Given a stack that includes SUNO for full-song generation, Logic for production, and Moises for repair and separation, Moises's genuinely distinct contributions narrow to two things: reacting to material by generating a part that conforms to it, and pulling apart instrument sub-components Logic's own tools don't offer. Everything else in the chain is already well-served by SUNO or Logic directly.

The same rule from the rest of this guide holds: the download is a lossless WAV so your separation starts clean. Have a listen, then follow the song straight down the chain.

The recommended chain
Invention
Generate the broad musical concept — full arrangement, vocal, and lyrics — from a prompt. This is the fastest way to get a complete idea on the table.
Structural map
Establish the authoritative tempo map, downbeat, structure, and chord progression — by ear if that's your preference over automatic chord detection. This becomes the reference everything else locks to.
Repair / addition
Separate any stems that need isolating, and generate or regenerate the one weak or missing part — a wandering bass line, a flat drum fill, a part that never quite landed. Work section-by-section using sectional regeneration rather than requesting a full new performance.
Editable conversion
If you need a Moises-generated audio stem as editable MIDI for note-level rework, convert it here — Moises generates and exports audio only, so this is the bridge if you need to go further.
Finish
Comp, edit, arrange, mix, and master using your existing chain. Logic is where everything actually gets finished — nothing upstream is meant to be a final product.

Moises's two genuinely distinct contributions
Context-aware stem generation
The "virtual bandmate" capability. Neither a DAW's own session-player feature (which generates from its internal library) nor SUNO (which generates full songs from prompts) can listen to existing audio and generate a new part that conforms to it. This is Moises's one truly novel capability in this stack.
Discrete drum-component separation
Kick, snare, hi-hat, toms, and cymbals pulled apart from an existing mix. Most DAW stem splitters give you one combined "drums" stem; this finer breakdown is useful for surgical remix work on a SUNO drum stem or a dense reference recording.
If you already have a tool like Melodyne for audio-to-MIDI conversion, the fact that Moises generates audio rather than editable MIDI is a much smaller limitation than it would be otherwise — a generated bass or guitar part isn't a dead end even if you eventually want to rework it note-by-note.
Logic's role — the conductor's chair
SUNO invents and Moises repairs or adds, but neither one finishes a record. If you're here you almost certainly already use Logic, so this isn't a tutorial — just where it sits once the other two tools are in the picture. Two jobs are Logic's alone:
The authoritative tempo map
Whatever SUNO generated, Logic is where you establish the real tempo map, downbeat, structure, and — by ear if that's your preference — the chord progression. This becomes the reference that every imported stem and generated part has to line up to.
Comp, edit, mix, master
Flex Time, Flex Pitch, crossfades, real comping, your mixing chain, and mastering all live here. Moises's own editing tools are fine for rough prep, but final craft comes back to Logic every time.
What Logic already covers (so you don't reach out unnecessarily)
- Its own Stem Splitter handles standard vocals/drums/bass/other separation locally on Apple Silicon — free, instant, no upload. Reach for Moises only when you need finer breakdowns Logic doesn't offer.
- Session Players / Drummer generate parts from Logic's own library — useful, but they don't react to your existing audio the way Moises AI Studio does. The two can be combined in the same section.
- A full production and mastering environment — which is exactly why the Moises workflow stays an export/import round trip rather than living inside the DAW.
A quick gut-check before reaching for Moises
Not every job in this chain needs the cloud round-trip. Ask:
- Do I need a finer breakdown than Logic's own Stem Splitter gives me (lead/background vocals, individual drum components, guitar subcategories)? If not, stay local.
- Am I trying to add or repair a part based on existing audio, rather than write it myself or pull it from a session-player library? That's exactly what Moises is for.
- Is the source file lossless (WAV/AIFF/FLAC)? If it's an MP3, separation and generation quality will suffer regardless of tier — re-bounce from source if you can.
